I had the pleasure to attend another event by Inclusion In Art the same group that hosted Afro-Americana Art exhibit seen here. So when I heard of this event downtown at one of my favorite spots IAO art gallery, I knew I was in there like swim wear. The event called "CIPHER" is an exciting and unique group art show organized by Inclusion In Art, an Oklahoma non-profit organization that is dedicated to promoting racial diversity in Oklahoma's visual arts community through workshops, exhibitions, and special events. The art of CIPHER spans many forms of creative expression; both visual and performing artists will weave an exhibition that defies convention. It would be an environment not confined to one genre, but is an exploration of multiple styles.

A few months ago I reached out to Kenya of The Kink 101 via facebook about info on her website. This was a time when Qrush Velvet was only an idea and during my research I stumbled across her site. She graciously provided me with helpful infomation and I knew The Kink 101 would be one of the website I would send my hair story to. We both have a passion for natual hair and supporting women in general. I am excitied for the future of my blog and her website and this is just the beginning!
Preserve You, Peace & Blessings!!
When I was searching for a eggplant recipe to fit into my lifestyle change of less meat and more vegetables, I stumbled across my recipe folder and found "spicy cilantro chicken". So I switched out the poultry for eggplant and fired up the stove. Surprisingly the absence of chicken was not missed. The dish had the same great taste and is a healthier alternative to boot, home run for team preserve you!
"FRIENDSHIP ISN'T ABOUT WHOM YOU HAVE KNOW THE LONGEST, IT'S ABOUT THOSE WHO CAME AND NEVER LEFT YOUR SIDE."
I headed out of town to celebrate my fashion partner in crime birthday, Fee @ Fancy Curves. I was looking forward to alot of laughing, not much catching up (because we talk daily) and enjoying each others company. This weekend is sure to be one for the record books, we are little older, wiser and have definitely become accustomed to being comfortable in our own skin, which is a recipe for a funky good time. On top of the fact it was a mini photo shoot every time we stepped out the door, your girl tried her best to be "open casket sharp". Just a few of the pics I snapped!
The "High Bun" has quickly become my stable hair style for any occasion. My first memory of the this style was when Ginuwine's video for "In those Jeans" premiered and I saw a model with a ridiculous FIERCE bun cocked to the side....Love at first sight!! Not only is it super easy to do but also allows me to not deal with my hair once again because as we all know from my Addicted to Protective styling post I am hair lazy! This style will fit into any situation work, going out, church, the options are endless. There are also different variations you can try, high on top, to the side, twists made into a bun (my fav), the usual wrap around and go, or if you are not about anything common try two high buns....werk!!
